Accreditation Services
Apprenticeship training programs are vital to providing competent workers for the present and future. While they have been fulfilling this role for a long time, they have struggled to obtain the recognition and support that is merited by the important part they play. One way to address this matter is to obtain accreditation by a nationally recognized agency for peer institutions that provide post-secondary educational training. Apprenticeship training programs that have been accredited achieve a level of recognition and respect that is comparable to that afforded to community colleges.
HOW TO GET ACCREDITED
Accreditation is a process whereby peer institutions establish and uphold standards of excellence. For apprenticeship training programs meeting the required standards of excellence is almost never a problem. What can be daunting is translating the excellence of apprenticeship training into the language that is generally used by accreditation agencies. That is where PTM can help. We have years of experience navigating the process from initial application to final approval.
SUCCESS STORIES
At present there are 20+ registered apprenticeships that have been accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE)
60% of COE’s accredited apprenticeships are PTM clients.
WHAT IT MEANS TO BE ACCREDITED
Accreditation opens the door to grant opportunities, financial benefits for students, and the potential to attract more qualified applicants for apprenticeship positions. Like almost any certification process there are ongoing responsibilities to maintain standards and report results. PTM can provide expert assistance to clients faced with these ongoing tasks.
AWARDING DEGREES
For some of our client’s, achieving accreditation was the first step toward becoming an institution lawfully permitted to award college level degrees to their apprentices. The licensure requirements for awarding degrees are governed by state law, thus varying significantly.

PTM has worked with clients in many different states to successfully navigate the licensure process.
