Public School CTE Liaisons

PTM Consulting Group has a staff which has been very successful in developing programs and garnering resources from Public School CTE programs.  Many public schools have been forced to drop or severely scale back career and technical education programs.  PTM has been successful in forming partnerships between schools and apprenticeship programs, including the highly successful Vocational Internship Program (VIP) where students attend classes at the apprenticeship school.

Not only do these programs introduce students to the construction trades, but they also create a recruitment stream for the apprenticeship programs.  PTM can facilitate discussions with the local public schools, develop Memorandums of Understanding, create the curriculum, and help budget to secure the funds to make these programs possible.

Community College Liaisons

PTM Consulting Group has vast experience helping apprenticeship programs build MOUs with community colleges to offer associate’s degree programs for apprentices.  This process includes building college level syllabi for apprenticeship classes, negotiating the number of credits for apprenticeship education and reviewing the MOU conditions set forth by the community college.

In addition to this work for apprenticeship programs, PTM Consulting Group is now offering community colleges the opportunity to work with apprenticeships to build a degree program together or to establish apprenticeship standards for existing technical education programs within the college.  This includes linking community colleges to apprenticeships, employer groups, as well as building the apprenticeship standards and modifying general education classes to better fit students.  We have also developed several MOU’s with four-year colleges and universities, whereas individuals can experience a seamless transition from high school, to apprenticeship, to community colleges, and even undergraduate and graduate level courses at universities.  We fully understand and speak the language of academia and can help you build a partnership that works best for your workforce.
