Apprenticeship Standards Development
PTM Consulting Group is pleased to offer services to apprenticeship organizations for the development, updating, or renewal of apprenticeship standards. The US Department of Labor is modernizing the National Apprenticeship System by updating apprenticeship standards. These changes aim to enhance worker protection, promote equity, and improve program quality. The proposed rule includes updates to standards of apprenticeship, such as determining suitable occupations, incorporating diversity and accessibility strategies, and setting minimum duration requirements for on-the-job learning and related instruction.

PTM has been engaged in this process in the following ways:
- Developing and securing approval for updated National Guidelines for the Operating Engineers for 11 professions.
- Obtaining approval for a brand-new occupation and apprenticeship standards for the United Mine Workers Association.
- Providing updated affirmative action plans and goals using DOL’s on-line tools for several local apprenticeship groups. Developing standards for certified Pre-apprenticeship.
- We have become proficient in both the document drafting and shepherding the standards and the affirmative action plans through the approval process. In all cases, our programs have received approval in the initial round of review.
